The wrong shoe can cause joint and back pain

"To my surprise and delight I realized that I kept my shoes on all day with no pain, blisters or sore feet at the end of the day." -Donna D.

As a part of our initial consultation and evaluation, we will examine your shoes to see if they are right for you biomechanically.

Completely aside from whether a shoe is the right size, many shoes are improperly designed. They don’t fit with the way your foot actually works. Shoes that don’t fit right or don’t properly support your feet can throw your feet out of alignment and cause you foot, knee, hip or back pain.

It isn’t a matter of price. There are high-priced shoes that aren’t right for your feet, and inexpensive shoes that are.

A properly designed and fitting shoe:

  • lasts a long time because it wears evenly
  • is comfortable
  • minimizes fatigue
  • requires no break-in period.

Add to that our unique full-contact orthotics, if needed, and your feet will fit naturally and comfortably in your shoes.

How do you tell if a shoe will be comfortable?

We will also teach you exactly what to look for in a shoe that will remain comfortable and last longer.

There are three simple things that if you know them, will enable you to pick out comfortable shoes before you even try them on.

If you know what to look for you can find comfortable shoes over and over again.

Woman: Being able to find comfortable heels, or work shoes or athletics shoes becomes a simple task.

Men: Comfortable work shoes, whether work boots, sneakers or dress shoes, save you time and money and the aggravation of buying the wrong shoe.

Young and adolescent children: The right fit provides a foundation for proper growth and development and can prevent children developing the same problems their parents have of muscle and joint pain.

Golf, Tennis, Baseball, Soccer: Which style of cleats should you wear?  We can tell you.  Proper fitting shoes can make you hit the ball straighter and farther with better balance and control, whether we are talking about golf, tennis or baseball.

Running Sports:  So many of our athletes report better splits, less injuries and the resolution of old ones, and an easier more comfortable stride with less recuperation from long runs.  It must be the shoe… and what’s in it. Runners and triathletes tell use they run better, easier and shave seconds off their mile splits. It’s all about efficiency.

Skaters and Dancers: Figure skaters jump higher, have greater rotation and land better.  Dancers have more grace and stamina from a firmer foundation.

Your foot motion and shape can change.  Not just because you are getting older, but more importantly, feet change based on your activity level. Correctly fitting shoes minimize destructive changes over time and keep you comfortable from your feet up to your back and neck.
